The First Day of Spring......FINALLY!

The days are getting longer, I know longer need my parka, the temperature is on a steady increase yep I'd say spring is finally here! Today could not get any better! Read my list of the 20 signs of spring from my perspective.......
1. Baby calves are running all over the pasture with tails in the air
2. The brown grass looks terrible but we're on the verge of green
3. The smell of thawing manure
4. Mud is EvErYwHeRe and being tracked into the house
5. Getting anxious for summer cattle shows
6. No longer have to scrape the ice/snow off my car
7. The Carhart bibs are being put away (chores are so much easier w/o the heavy clothes)
8. SUN! More hours of daylight
9. Baby farm animals are soo stickin' cute right now
10. The first thunderstorm
11. Dad is spreading manure in the field
12. Prom dresses are at the front of stores and every high school girl is racing to the mall (brings back memories, yep that was me)
13. I want to be outside and enjoy the fresh air
14. Wake up to chirping birds
15. The long season of baseball begins
16. First BBQ of many to come throughout the summer....... yum yum
17. Calving season is almost if not done
18. Flowers are beginning to blossom
19. While there is green grass there is also a few mountain size piles of snow left to melt
20. We're on the verge of wearing cute spring/summer clothes
What did you do to kick-off the spring season?? Cheers to Spring 2011:)
