Bam. Bam. Bam!!
Yes that it the noise I woke up to this morning as I poured my first cup of brew at the Starr Ranch. Today is a state-wide Holiday that causes just about all works of business to shut down......Opening day of gun season! My dad loaded up his prized guns, orange attire, beef jerky and snickers Friday morning to head to the north land, leaving us girls to man the farm for a few days, ....... or so he thinks that's what we're doing......
For the ladies, opening deer hunting weekend means one thing..... SHOPPING!! In a short bit (ok after we do chores), we'll get in the car and head to a specialty coffee shop and then to a little village called King, WI where these cute little shops & boutiques will come to life as they fill with surrounding women who are looking to window shop (or buy), holiday decor, unique clothes & accessories, and fun antiques. The treasures you find this weekend are definetly one-of-a-kind, and that the average person wouldn't have (SCORE). And most likely end on a girly-type cafe lunch.
Our weekend also consists of getting ready for Thanksgiving (a little baking) and Mom even mentioned putting up some holiday decoration outside before it gets too cold.
Whatever we do, it's tradition that we hang out, do a little shopping out and about, and end with a little wine. To me that equals a good weekend!
What are you doing when all the men head out to hunt?
I leave you with the song that will be playing over and over again on the radio station, the famous Da Turty-Point Buck Song.
